This catalogue accompanies the fall 2001 exhibition at the Kimbell Art Museum. This exhibition of unprecedented artistic and archaeological importance presents some 127 masterpieces of bronze, jade, and ceramic, dating from the thirteenth century B.C. to the third century A.D. Unlike any previous exhibition of Chinese art, this show highlights the recent discoveries from the late Bronze Age civilization of Sichuan province, which have revolutionized the understanding of early Chinese art. This hardcover catalogue has 248 plates accompanying eight essays on this important archaeological discovery.
