Each semester, the Kimbell collaborates with local studio art teachers to host this special and long-standing repeat-visit program for high school students. Over the course of three visits, students engage in thematic docent-guided tours featuring artworks in the permanent collection and special exhibitions, as well as the Museum architecture, and then apply related ideas or techniques in a hands-on activity. Overall, these programs are designed to complement the teacher’s classroom curriculum and to help students build artist portfolios. They also foster enhanced observation and analytical skills, promote understanding of artistic traditions from around the world, and encourage creative expression.
