Time and Monet

George T. M. Shackelford, deputy director, Kimbell Art Museum

Shackelford will explore the many ways in which questions of time intersect with Monet’s art, from the idea of the quickly painted “impression” to the series paintings that mark the time of day. The passing of time—from youth to age—will be discussed in the context of the exhibition that celebrates the artist’s accomplishments in old age.
