Commissioned Security Guard

Full-time, hourly position available in the Security department.

Security experience is required, preferably in a museum or similar institution. Applicants must be able to become commissioned by the Texas Department of Public Safety - Private Security Bureau, passing all required tests, including firearms qualification and background investigations. In addition, applicants must complete First Aid/CPR certification.

Applicants must be capable of assisting with any museum evacuation emergencies and responding to security situations promptly. Excellent communications skills are necessary for interaction with museum staff and patrons. Must be able to move throughout the museum campus for long periods of time and lift up to 50 pounds. Valid driver's license and computer skills are required. Weekend and night shift rotations are required.  Applicants must be able to pass a criminal background and pre-employment drug screening.
